Delivery

Some problems you want advice on.
Some you want owned.

The judgement is the same either way. What changes is how much of the work sits with us.

When this is the right call

When the problem needs carrying.

The date is fixed and nobody internal is free to own it.
It has to hold up in production, not in a pilot.
It is larger than anything the team has run before.

Most of our work is senior judgement alongside your own people, and that is usually the right shape: the decisions get better and the capability stays where it is useful. Sometimes it is not what is wanted. The thing is too large, the date will not move, or there is simply nobody free to carry it. What you want then is for somebody to take the whole problem and be answerable for it.

How it works

We scope the outcome, then find the people.

We agree what has to be true at the end and how you will know, before anyone starts. Then we put the right people behind it: our own senior team, specialist firms we have worked with before and would put our name to, or partners you already have and trust. Often some of each.

We lead the work whichever way it is resourced, and the accountability does not move around with the resourcing. One senior person here is answerable for the result, and it is somebody you met in the first hour.

Why us for this

We have run things this size.

Before the current wave we built and operated an AI personalisation platform at 100 million users and a million transactions a second, inside businesses where being wrong in public has consequences. We relaunched a global loyalty programme worldwide in four weeks. We have delivered inside air traffic control, the NHS and FCA-regulated communications, where the regulated version is the only version that ships.

That work is history rather than a product, and we cite it for one reason: it is where the judgement was earned.

The boundary

Responsibility, not resource.

What we take on is responsibility for an outcome. That is a different thing from supplying people to work under someone else’s management, which we do not do. If extra hands on a plan your own leadership is running is what you actually need, there are firms that do it well and we will happily point you at them.

Your own people can still be part of it. Wanting a thing delivered and wanting your team stronger at the end of it are not exclusive, and where you want both we will build that into the shape of the work rather than bolting it on afterwards.
